Historic Jungle Trail

The Historic Jungle Trail, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally a sandy road built in the 1920s for the citrus growers on the barrier island. The approximately eight-mile trail passes through hammocks of palms and other coastal wetland species, as well as some of the area’s private communities and the shores of Indian River Lagoon.

Historical Downtown District

On the first Friday of the month, the galleries and restaurants in Vero Beach’s historic downtown open for the Art Stroll. On the last Friday of the month, a family-friendly (and dog-friendly) street party features music, dancing, shopping and culinary delights.
