On a visit to South Florida in the 1990s, in search of a winter home for themselves and their children, W. Galen and Hilary M. Weston became captivated by a former citrus plantation in an idyllic location between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean in Vero Beach. A few homes were built on the property for friends and family along with a polo field where Mr. Weston – an accomplished polo player – enjoyed playing spirited matches.

Over the following decades, the Westons began to pursue a truly expansive vision. Working with celebrated architects Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk they created a seaside village that combined the charm of yesterday with the comforts of today, while pointing toward the future with themes of New Urbanism and sustainability.

Windsor is a legacy endeavor for the Weston family. Building on the well-established foundation, Mrs. Weston and daughter Alannah Weston have now shaped an evolved vision for Windsor’s final development phase, the North Village.
